 Uploaded This story is called Holes. The boys in the story have to dig holes.
 Uploaded Stanley was sent to Camp Green Lake. It is a camp for boys who get in trouble. It is not a fun place!
 Uploaded Stanley Yelnats got in trouble. Some people thought he took shoes that did not belong to him.
 Uploaded The shoes belonged to a famous baseball player, Clyde Livingston. Stanley found them. The police thought he took them.
 Uploaded When bad things happen to Stanley’s family, they say it is his great-great-grandfather’s fault.
 Uploaded His family tells this story. Stanley’s great-great-grandfather stole a pig from an old lady.
 Uploaded The old lady was mad. Stanley’s family thinks she makes bad things happen.
 Uploaded Stanley thinks about his dad. His dad is trying to make something to help old shoes smell new.
 Uploaded Staley remembers the police put handcuffs on him. He couldn’t move his hands. He rode in a bus to Camp Green Lake.
 Uploaded Camp Green Lake did not have a lake. It was not a nice place. It was hot and dry.
 Uploaded Mr. Sir is a guard at the camp. He eats sunflower seeds. He is very mean.
 Uploaded The boys at Camp Green Lake dig holes all day. Mr. Sir says digging holes will make bad boys turn good. It is hard work.
 Uploaded Stanley gets a bottle for water and only 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts. This is not a fun camp.
 Uploaded Mr. Pandeski is a counselor at the camp. He takes Stanley to his cabin. Stanley meets some other boys.
 Uploaded Stanley meets some of the other boys. They have funny names like Armpit, Squid and X-ray.
 Uploaded The last boy he meets is called Zero. He doesn't talk very much.
