 Uploaded A girl named India Opal lived with her dad in Florida. He is a preacher. She calls him Preacher. He calls her Opal.
 Uploaded One day Opal goes to the grocery store. It is called Winn-Dixie. There is something happening!
 Uploaded A dog is running through the grocery store! It is making a big mess.
 Uploaded The manager of the store was mad! He was yelling. Opal doesn't want the dog to be in trouble. She says it is her dog.
 Uploaded Opal names the dog Winn-Dixie. She takes him home. What will her dad, the Preacher, say?
 Uploaded At first Preacher said no dogs! Opal is sad. She wants a friend. But, he liked Winn-Dixie so he said he can stay.
 Uploaded Ewww! Winn-Dixie is stinky and dirty. Opal gives him a bath.
 Uploaded Opal’s mother doesn’t live with them. Opal doesn’t remember her mother. She wants to know more about her.
 Uploaded Opal is 10 years old. She asks Preacher to tell her 10 things about her mom.
 Uploaded Preacher thinks. He remembers things. He tells her 10 things about her mom.
 Uploaded 1) She was funny. 2) She had red hair. 3) She was good at growing plants. 4) She was a fast runner.
 Uploaded 5) She did not like cooking. 6) She loved funny stories. 7) She knew all the stars.
 Uploaded 8) She did not like being a preacher’s wife. 9) She drank too much and 10) She loved Opal very much.
 Uploaded Opal writes down everything about her mom so she won’t forget.
 Uploaded Winn-Dixie does not like to be alone! Opal and Preacher take Winn-Dixie with them everywhere.
