You may click on photo credits link in any book to link to the pages on Flickr for the photos. Of course, the pictures remain the property of photographers who took them and all the restrictions they placed on their use still apply.

 Uploaded 9 year old Sylvia lived in the city.
 Uploaded Sylvia moved to Maine to live with her grandma in the woods.
 Uploaded Sylvia helped her grandma with chores. She would find her grandma's cow and bring him home each night.
 Uploaded As Sylvia spent more time in the woods, she loved her new home.
 Uploaded One day in the woods, Sylvia came across a hunter.
 Uploaded The hunter was searching for birds to add to his collection. He really wanted to find a rare white heron.
 Uploaded The hunter came home with Sylvia and spent the night.
 Uploaded The hunter offered a large reward for who ever could help him find the heron.
 Uploaded Sylvia joined the hunter to look for the heron's nest but could not find it.
 Uploaded The next day Sylvia climbed the tallest tree in the woods to find the heron.
 Uploaded Sylvia saw the whole countryside and found the heron.
 Uploaded Sylvia fell in love with the country even more and decided not to tell the hunter where the heron was.
 Uploaded The heron and the rest of nature was innocent and beautiful she did not want to see it die.
 Uploaded Sylvia always thought about the money she could have had. She hopes she will be rewarded by learning the secret of nature.
