If you type Penny in the searchbox on the homepage, you'll find some but not all of my books. "Books You've Written" is also incomplete. For some reason, the only way I can get a full listing of my contributions is to click Penny in the index of tags. So maybe try that!

I know some of the books are written by kids, and some are written by teachers--who else is writing books here? Me, for one!

I'm a mom and an old grad-school friend of Karen Erickson's, and I somehow got alerted to the Tar Heel Reader website in its first days (still don't exactly know how I found out). I love making books at Tar Heel Reader, though I don't have any kids who use it--it's just fun, and an interesting challenge. I like making visually stimulating books (like Vanishing Point or Spiral Story), and I like making books about processes (like Flour, Dough, Bread, or Voting). Several of my recent books (Marimekko, Hundertwasser, Gehry, Vanishing Point) reflect projects I'm teaching in the art room at my daughter's school.

I'm very impressed with the changes at Tar Heel Reader since I first came around, and I'll keep coming back to make books just to play with the many new features. I'm still hoping to come up with a satisfying fiction story--and more history, especially women's history--so many possibilities.
